Company History

In 1998, Paul Clark, a pioneer in the PET beverage container industry, co-founded PET Systems (PTS) with Bob Wilson (retired in 2005). With Paul’s experience in polymer chemistry, machine design, container manufacturing, maintenance, and infrastructure design, he recognized the need for a more scientific approach to process and engineering in the beverage container industry. In January of that year, PTS was incorporated. The company was started in 1998; however, the founders were a core group of subject matter experts whose experience went back to the first commercial use of plastic beverage bottles in 1979. The original PTS staff was built to combine manufacturing experience, professional engineering skills and statistical expertise. Our objective was to apply science and process engineering to plastic bottle manufacturing. Though Paul Clark left this world in 2024, his legacy will live on in all of us.

Since then, we have grown both in size and scope of services. Our expertise spans all facets of a project from the exploratory phase through ongoing operational support. We have also expanded well beyond the plastics industry to include design and project management support for The Food and Beverage Industry as well as heavy industrial customers within the United States and abroad.

Our greatest strength as an engineering and design firm is our people. What started as a two-person company has grown into an organization of over 50 engineers and support staff whose singular goal is to provide value to our customers. Our excellence comes from our proven team of engineers and project management professionals, each respected as industry leaders in their core disciplines, all working to consistently meet our clients fast-track project schedules without sacrificing quality or budget. It is that focus that has allowed us to build a business based almost exclusively on repeat customers and word of mouth.
