The success of a completed project will always involve an assessment of whether or not the project scope was well defined and if the implementation costs were within budget. To that end, PTS can provide Master Plan Development services in advance of initiating any project endeavor.
During the Scope phase, PTS defines the activities that will be required within a given project. This may involve elements such as defining building criteria and modifications, identifying equipment purchases, utility upgrades, installation activities, start-up and commissioning. The goal is to accurately capture all of the activities associated and to consider all of the implications of this activity to ongoing production operations and other client criteria.
Additionally, it is during the Scope phase that we attempt to create a preliminary project timeline for the activities identified. Understanding the implementation timeline enables us to work with clients to identify the best timing to commence activities to work around seasonable production demands, planned outages, etc.
During the Budget Development phase, PTS engages with potential vendors and contractors to acquire budgetary costs for equipment components and installation services. Our familiarity with the equipment involved allows us to expertly define specifications to increase the accuracy of bids without risk of cost increases later. The Scope that is developed allows for a sufficiently descriptive expectation of contractor requirements to ensure budgetary bids that are highly accurate (not under or over stated).
Accuracy in the Scope & Budget Development phase is essential to providing the information necessary for our clients to make sound decisions. Our objective is to accurately define the potential project’s Scope & Budget so that our clients can determine the best course of action without bias to whether the project is implemented in the future or not.
