Scientific Process-Based Design Decisions
The PTS design philosophy emphasizes a scientific design process which utilizes a variety of statistical tools (SPC, DOE, etc.). Equipment, layout and infrastructure performance are constantly and statistically reviewed, challenged and improved by the PTS design team with each new project.
Consistent Budget and Schedule Performance
PTS has managed over six hundred million dollars in capital projects over the last five years. In that time, no project has ever been completed late or gone over budget based on the original scope of the project. PTS considers it’s most important product to be our comprehensive facility design package, which includes:
- Infrastructure Balance Sheets
- Precise Drawing Packages
- Clear Equipment and Contractor Bid Packages
By generating detailed and accurate bid packages, PTS is able to conduct a highly competitive bid process and to complete projects with minimal change orders. In addition, PTS provides three dimensional drawings for piping, electrical, HVAC and structural design so that most systems can be largely pre-fabricated off-site. Prefabrication of large piping and structural supports in particular can significantly accelerate the installation process.
